The Highlight Room is a rooftop bar and lounge on the 16th floor of the Moxy Lower East Side hotel at 145 Bowery in Manhattan. It is run by Tao Group Hospitality. The room is enclosed in glass on all sides, opens onto an outdoor terrace, and looks out over the Lower East Side skyline. It stays open until 4 AM from Thursday through Saturday. This guide covers what it's like, drink deals, hours, reservations and private events.
About The Highlight Room
The Highlight Room sits 16 stories above the intersection of Broome Street and the Bowery. Its design is inspired by a 19th-century pleasure garden: foliage hangs from the ceiling and a large tree spreads across the room. The seating mixes plush banquettes and red velvet, with marble tables and hanging chandeliers. A retractable glass wall connects the indoor lounge to a terrace planted with greenery, which has panoramic views of the city.
The venue works as two places in one. Early in the evening it's a sunset cocktail spot. On Thursday through Saturday nights it becomes a late-night lounge with a built-in DJ booth.
Drinks and Food
The Highlight Room is primarily a cocktail bar. The drinks list centers on cocktails, martinis, wine and beer, and a menu of bar food is served alongside. The venue's own photos show martini flights with pizza, fries, burgers and popcorn. Tao Group doesn't publish the full food and cocktail menu with prices online, so expect Manhattan rooftop-bar pricing and check the current menu when you arrive.
Golden Hour
The best value is Golden Hour, Monday to Thursday from 5 to 7 PM:
- House wine: $10

Arriving at 5 PM for Golden Hour is also the easiest way to get a terrace seat before the evening crowd.
